Spider’s wire rope insulation and welding accessories provide critical safety protection when performing welding from a suspended basket or platform.

  • Insulated thimble assemblies isolate the wire rope to protect rigging and structural components above.
  • Arc guard protects the wire rope above and below fair lead and below deck to prevent accidental severing of the wire while welding.

Key Features

Arc guard kits are used during welding to protect the hoist and wire rope from damage.

Note: All components are required for complete protection when welding. For example, a PC3 on an end stirrup requires the following components for complete welding protection:

  • 1581 or 701301-1 Mid Arc Guard
  • 4485 Top Arc Guard
  • 9970 Hoist Cover
  • 725702-1 or 725703-1 Welding Ground Assy (Depending on what is available for grounding)
  • Any of the Insulated Thimble Assemblies (e.g., 725701-2)
